Girls rugby at Shrewsbury RFC is thriving! We're proud to offer a welcoming, supportive environment where girls of all abilities can discover the joy of rugby.
Whether you're a complete beginner or have played before, you'll find your place with us.
We play in partnership with Market Drayton RUFC under the Griffins name, bringing together the best young female talent from across Shropshire. Our teams compete, grow, and have an absolute blast together!

No commitment, no fees to start - just come and play!
We know trying something new can feel daunting, so we've made it as easy as possible. Your first few sessions are completely FREE - no fees, no pressure, just fun! We'll even provide kit to get you started until you decide rugby's for you (and trust us, it will be!).
All you need to bring is yourself, a water bottle, and a willingness to try something amazing.

Our Griffin Teams
We currently run three age groups, all playing competitive fixtures across the region:
Girls Under 12
For girls aged 11-12 on 1st September. A perfect introduction to competitive girls rugby!
Girls Under 14
For girls aged 13-14 on 1st September. Building skills and competitive edge!
Girls Under 16
For girls aged 15-16 on 1st September. Fast, physical, and fantastic rugby!

How to Join the Griffins
- Contact Your Age Group Manager - Get in touch to arrange your first training session (contact details on team pages above)
- Turn Up & Have Fun - Come to training, meet the team, and give it a go. No fees for your trial sessions!
- We'll Kit You Out - We'll provide training kit to get you started while you decide if rugby's for you
- Join the Griffin Family - Once you're hooked (and you will be!), we'll help you register and get your official kit
